CDE Data Pipeline
A field house concept was presented to the Board of Education at a regular board meeting on August 26, 2013 by Mark Lynch and Kevin Sankey. The Board received additional information and an update from Mark and Kevin at a regular board meeting on October 14, 2013 and adopted a resolution to support the concept of a community field house on property owned by the school district and designate the superintendent to explore the contingencies necessary to satisfy prior to final agreement and to negotiate with Mark regarding the final project and agreements. A community meeting was held at the Middle School on March 12 and the concept was presented by Mark and Kevin to community members in attendance. The Board had two additional workshops on June 10 and June 25 to discuss aspects of the agreement with all parties including legal counsel. The Board will consider accepting the agreement at a special board meeting on July 17, 2014. All documents that have been reviewed by the Board are available below. In December of 2013, the Steamboat Springs School District hired two experts in GT programming to complete a review and audit of the program and to provide the district with recommendations for the future of the K-12 GT program. As part of the process, the consultancy team considered school achievement data listed on the CDE school view site, the proficiency and growth scores for GT identified students, district identification process and district processes for the monitoring of ALP's. Also considered were the goals of the Administrative Unit concerning GT programming. Separate survey and focus groups were conducted GT identified students, parents, staff at each school and administration at each school and the GT coordinators for the district.
