Below are two versions of the proposed school year calendar for 2012-13. The elementary schools will be moving to a trimester schedule regardless of which calendar is approved. The only difference in the calendars is the scheduling of the Parent/Teacher conferences in November.

The Board of Education reviewed the proposed calendars at the January 9, 2012 Board of Education meeting and will be asked to adopt one of the calendars at the February 6, 2012 Board of Education meeting.

Rationale for Elementary Trimester Schedule Proposal for 2012-2013

• Trimester schedule aligns to the elementary assessment schedule
• Trimester schedule aligns parent/teacher conferences with elementary progress reports which will enable the school to give parents current data about their child's progress
• Trimester schedule will provide elementary schools more time to institute interventions and measure the success of the interventions
